How very sad i am  .How very

happy i am to have known you.How much i think

of you from the time i left south Africa.Perhaps

all our journeys are united by such sweet souls

who illuminate our paths & make us understand

that it's all okay in the end. My thoughts of you

inform my life and ideas and i will miss not being able to call you and hear your warm soft voice. The kindness & consideration towards others will always remain an example to me.Your funny nicknames and songs and your appreciation  of the human form..when you came home and explained to us the beauty of a boxer whose lifeless body lay in front of you that day.Once you brought me a black widow spider in a bottle captured by a nervous patients mother..just  one example of a  curiousity that inspires my life and work. You were a person who so much understood that care lies not so much in the medicine but in the manner of the caregiver .

My friend ,uncle & father figure........ I miss so much.

In the short time that I got to know you it was great to talk to you about medicine.  You shared your opinions about different specialties that was interesting and your general approach that was helpful to me.  One time you took Yaron and I to your lab in Chicago and showed us the work you were doing including cross sections of a mouse aorta on your mac computer.  You and Rose's  great example of a loving couple. You have always been so great towards us, and we will miss you deeply .

My darling uncle Mike we loved you with all our hearts and all our souls, and we will never forget the wonderful uncle you have been for us.
Our darling mother Hannah loved you immensely and was always telling us about you and Rose as a young couple and about your studies, the career, each place you worked for and how nicely you treated your patients and how Rose always stood by your side supportive and loving.
Thank  you uncle Mike for having my mother in your house when she was a young girl and thank you for having me for many months during my crazy teenage years. You and Rose were just wonderful ; you helped with  homework and with school crises, you treated me like a daugther and wellcomed me in your beautiful home. Rose taught gym and always took me along, she cooked and baked wonderfully; you invited me to your friends, taught me maths, explained what you did at your  work and just gave me a fantastic time and memories that are forever engraved in me.
You were a beautiful man both outside and inside, proud of your great daughters and their families; funny and unpretentious, loving and kind.
You have been a great man and may your light shine and protect us forever.
Goodbye my darling uncle Mike

Am very sorry to hear the sad news.
Please convey to the whole family
my deepest  sympathy and condolences.
and if possible forward this email to them.
When explaining to Lynn who Mike was, I told her the
story of when I was about 10 or 12 years old about 73 or 71 years ago,
my parents and I used to go and visit Mikes parents in their home in Op de Bergen street,
and for the first time in my life I saw a Gramophone the ones you wound up with a handle.
They also had a great selection of Yiddish and Chazones records.
To this very day I still sing some of those songs which I first heard there, on all the occasions that we went to visit.
It was quite a walk for us, up the hill from the Doornfontein Swimming Baths,
where we got off the tram after having having traveled down Beit street.
What wonderful memories, it is such a pity that we only remember some things on happy or sad occasions.
Sincerest Greetings to all.
Nathan

I have just told my mother We are both deeply saddened by the news.I remember him so fondly ,his gentle touch as a doctor, his encouragement to me personally with my studies and his hearty laugh whenever my dad told jokes.I wish you long life.Michelle Brener (Braude)

we were especially saddened to hear of Mikes passing.Bernard will remember him for all the things he did for him over the years. It is always sad when a generation passes away and all that knowledge is lost. His integrity will always be there for his children and grandchildren to follow and aspire to.

Please give condolences to Rose,Lydia Helen and Shirley and all the grandchildren. We are thinking of them, and of course of Rose as her lifelong partner has been taken from her . I know the hurt and pain my mother is going through on a daily basis.

May we all be comforted with the mourners of Zion and know no more pain with the coming of Moshiach now.Sacks Family

We share Marion's thoughts and sentiments - please pass on to her, Bernard, Davie and family.
Love to all
